21st Sarenith through 26th Sarenith, 4712 AR
The Wormwood begins to chase down a Rahadoumi ship named the Man’s Promise, in hopes of capturing the ship, it’s plunder and it’s crew. As the Wormwood gets close enough for the attack, Riaris Krine pulls the pirates aside to let them know they will be one of the first groups to swing over to the new ship, under command of Lumpy (who proved most able during training).
When within bowshot of the Man’s Promise, a magically generated fog envelops the other ship, and our hapless pirates board the ship along with the rest of the officers and crew from the Wormwood. The battle is quick and vicious, with the pirates proving their worth in capturing escaping sailors and officers for ransom.
After celebrating their victory, Captain Harrigan announces that the new ship will be crewed by Plugg, Scourge, and their choice of crew from the Wormwood to meet with Harrigan in Port Peril. Plugg and Scourge decide to bring their favorite playthings (i.e. our heroes) with them, malice gleaming in their eyes.
Setting sail away from the Wormwood it soon becomes apparent to the heroes and their friendly compatriots that the ship is not heading to Port Peril. Before anything can be done, however, a storm erupts, forcing the ship aground on a coral reef off Bonewrack Isle, and two of the crew (Sandara Quinn andJack Scrimshaw) missing. Evidence points that they were taking to the nearby island, but Plugg and Scourge don’t care, until it’s revealed that they need water from the island to replenish their stores. Not wanting to waste good crew, they send our heroes to the island to find water, along with Fipps Chumlett, to ensure they don’t try anything.
Upon landing on the island, the first order of business for the new pirates is to kill Scourge and Plugg’s man, Fipps. Having done that, they then begin exploring the island. Discovering giant crabs, diseased botflies, ankhegs, vine chokers, and the unholy ghoulish remains of shipwrecked brothel workers, their first day ends with them resting in the Arron Ivy’s stockade, wondering if their compatriot Zhen will succumb to the ghastly disease carried by the botflies.
